(The Advocate) -- Two lesbians are suing a resort in Vermont where they had sought to hold their wedding reception, a request turned down due to the "personal feelings" of the owners. Kate Baker and Ming Linsley of New York wanted to have their wedding ceremony at a Buddhist retreat in Vermont and then have their wedding reception at the Wildflower Inn.

I can just hear homophobic Christianists claiming this is another example of how the advancement of gay rights threatens their religious liberty. But I wonder what they would think if they were turned away because a shopkepper, or innkeeper, or county clerk disapproved of them on religious grounds. They are so lost in the fog of their own self-righteousness, they don't stop to consider that many Christians may disapprove of them.
