Surging Santorum Would Annul All Same-Sex Marriages
Surging Santorum Would Annul All Same-Sex Marriages: Social conservatives are lauding Rick Santorum’s “surge” to third place in the Iowa polls, but his new forthrightness about his positions may backfire. In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, Santorum explained that not only would he support a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, he supports invalidating all currently legal same-sex unions: SANTORUM: I...

Pressed on Thursday in Marshalltown on why he opposed hospital visitation rights for gay couples, Perry explained, in a blunt ending to a roundabout answer: "Listen, I love the sinner, I hate the sin." I asked his spokeswoman, Catherine Frazier on Friday whether, given his foggy response the day before, the Governor still opposed Lawrence. Answer: Absolutely. "The remarks in his book are still the case," Frazier said.

Chicago Cardinal Doubles Down, Says Gay Pride Parade ‘Invited An Obvious Comparison’ To KKK
Chicago Cardinal Doubles Down, Says Gay Pride Parade ‘Invited An Obvious Comparison’ To KKK: Earlier this month, Catholic Cardinal Francis George of Chicago raised more than a few eyebrows for comparing the the gay rights movement to the Klu Klux Klan. George made the comments after organizers of the city’s gay pride parade briefly considered rerouting the event past Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. And while the parade’s...

Ron Paul Claimed An AIDS Patient Is ‘A Victim Of His Own Lifestyle’ In 1987 Book: In recent days, Ron Paul has tried to distance himself from damaging newsletters from the late 1980s and 1990s by attributing racist and anti-gay statements to ghost writers and disavowing the most incendiary sentiments. “It wasn’t a reflection of my views at all…I think it was terrible,” Paul said of the letters, which blamed AIDS...

Paul Campaign Touts Endorsement Of Preacher Who Advocates Death Penalty For Gays
Paul Campaign Touts Endorsement Of Preacher Who Advocates Death Penalty For Gays: Ron Paul has developed a “live and let live” approach to same-sex marriage and gay rights on the campaign trail, but his efforts to attract Evangelical voters ahead of the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses have revealed, a darker social conservative side to the libertarian Republican from Texas. For instance, earlier this week, the Paul campaign...

Rick Perry Draws A Blank On Key Supreme Court Case Overturning Texas’ Anti-Gay Laws He Defended: During his presidential campaign, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has had difficulty recalling how many justices sit on the Supreme Court and remembering their names, so perhaps it’s not surprising that today, he forgot a landmark case involving his administration. At a town hall in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Perry appeared to draw a blank when...

Police declined to arrest anyone because they said those involved were "men of God."
I’d like this to be a still from an old movie about two guys who fell in love during WWII.
I’d like this to be a still from an old movie about two guys who fell in love during WWII. I would like it to be romantic, tragic, and poignant like Casablanca. It would be great if such a film were made today, but I would like for it to have been made back in the 40’s. I would like to have seen it when I was a kid. I would like for this film to have helped me imagine falling in love with a man, and being so in love with him that I would risk everything, do anything to be with him. I would like for this film to have shaped my character and my expectations. I would like for this film to have affirmed a nascent dream that was just beginning to emerge in me when I was eleven or twelve.

Rob Paul brags that he has gained the endorsement of a Christianist pastor who advocates capital punishment for gays.
Ron Paul Endorsed by Eminent Pastor Rev. Phil Kayser, Ph.D.
From Pil Kayser's book Is The Death Penalty Just: Even after a society implemented Biblical law and made homosexuality a crime, there are many checks and balances that would be in place. (See Appendix A page 40 for specifics.) The civil government could not round them up. Only those who were prosecuted by citizens could be punished, and the punishment could take a number of forms, including death. This would have a tendency of driving homosexuals back into their closets.
Ron Paul’s Easy Appeal Among Reconstructionists
Rev. Mark Harris wants to keep the debate about the proposed NC constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriage civil, but he says homosexuality is a sin and a threat to children.

I'm pretty sure Chuck Colson does want to impose his beliefs on us.
Interesting how Colson suggests that those who object to the way Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich, and Perry inject their religious beliefs into the presidential race are somehow anti-Christian, as if Obama doesn't identify as a Christian or as if many if not most liberals and Democrats don’t identify as Christian. It’s also interesting how he suggests that he and Christians like himself, namely Christianists, are both the saviors of Western Civilization and the ones who invented everything good about it. Oh, no, it wasn't the Greeks who gave us democracy. It was the Christianists who did that. Really? Their historical revisionism and their willingness to present themselves as the moral guardians of our country when we know that they're a bunch of lying, self-serving, self-deluded crazies is extremely creepy. Colson, I simply don't believe you when you say you don't want to impose your beliefs on me when you've made it perfectly clear you miss the days when people like me lived in fear of being put in prison or committed to mental hospitals.
Those crazy heterosexuals.
You know if a gay man did this, the homophobes would be all over it. They'd say this is the reason they find gay people revolting. But when they see a straight guy do it, they just dismiss him as an ignorant redneck.

Remember folks, only gay people put their sexuality on display and wear suggestive clothing in public. Straight people have never been known to do that. :P
Sometimes you hear homophobes complain about Gay Pride Parades, and they ask why aren't there any Straight Pride Parades? ...as if there's not a Straight Pride Parade going on all the time everywhere.
The Feast of Stephen
Today is Boxing Day, sometimes known as The Feast of Stephen in some countries. So I thought I would share this short film by James Franco inspired by the poem The Feast of Stephen by Anthony Hetch. It’s about a young man who isn’t quite like the other boys. He isn’t athletic. He lacks the killer instinct. He is a quiet and gentle boy. But he is drawn to and fascinated by his peers as they engage in a game of basketball. He is keenly aware of the homoeroticism on display in this contact sport and the esprit de corps shared by the players. They catch him watching them. They know he knows their secret. They know he is the type of boy who would act on the impulses they have sublimated using their game. They can’t stand seeing themselves through his eyes, so they decide to punish him.
Warning: this film contains full frontal nudity, extreme violence and rape.
Read the Hetch poem here.

James McAvoy was a good boy.
I was talking to one of my aunties at Christmas and she said she didn't think it was ever in my nature to go against the grain, that I was always a good boy. I think she was right - I did always want to be good.
