3- Muscle Beach at Santa Monica.Closed down in 1959 when Pacific Ocean Park opened up nearby. The city fathers didn’t want the concessions at Muscle Beach to compete with the concessions at Pacific Ocean Park, so Muscle Beach had to go.-Rj
