Oh, my God, the silly, insulting things people are saying to one another about the election. I’ll be so glad when the primary season is over next month, and I’m looking forward to getting the general out of the way in the fall.
No matter who gets elected, I know that all the things I want for our country—universal health care, more affordable education, more equitable distribution of wealth, better treatment of the disabled, the mentally ill and the poor, renewable energy… I know those things aren’t going to magically happen in the next four or even eight years.
In the fall, I will be voting against Trump. I will not be voting for a saint. I know that no matter who I end up voting for in the fall, history will not honor them with the title “the Great” after their name. But I think it’s possible that if Trump wins, he will be remembered as Trump the Terrible.
